Lazio midfielder Mourad Meghni is delighted with his recent form at home and in Europe.

Meghni has overcome his early jitters and made a very impressive appearance against Werder Bremen in the Champions League.

"After the Bremen game things changed a lot for me, or rather the way people saw me did," he revealed. "As well as physical problems I have had some trouble acclimatising. I have struggled and been shy entering such a big side.

"I hadn't been in a good way. I was only half fit and it was showing in my performances, but against Werder I played well."

Meghni was sent out on loan to Ligue 1 side Sochaux in 2005-06, but the experience was a bitter one.

"Bologna and now Lazio have shown faith in me, which makes such a difference after the criticism I received at Sochaux," he recalled. "Rome could be the city where I make my name as a player and I just hope to get into the team consistently and impress here."
