Paul McShane is confident Sunderland will stay up this season.
The Irish defender told the Shields Gazette: "I think things are looking well generally.
"The Newcastle performance was good and we were unlucky not to win and we have to start turning those games into three points.
"I'm confident that things will start going right for us. There has been a lot of injuries this season and it's disappointing to see people dropping all the time. But we have got a good squad and this is why."
