Paul McShane admits he could quit West Bromwich Albion.
The Republic of Ireland international says a continued lack of opportunities could lead to his departure next summer.
"Of course it has a bearing," he said. "I can't stick around to be playing games, and playing well, and then be totally left out of a squad, because it is disheartening.
"It was good to hear (what Bruce said in regards to a new deal) and it was promising but when this happens after happening a few weeks before, there's only so promising it can be.
"I'm not sure what will happen. Probably in January when it all kicks off again I might know more but that's the life of a footballer, you don't know where you'll be from one minute to the next."
