Callum McManaman was delighted with his goal in Wigan Athletic's FA Cup victory over Hull City.
The youngster is a cousin of Liverpool legend Steve McManaman.
He said: "I was ecstatic to see my name on the team sheet. The gaffer is always trying to give the youngsters a chance. He told me to keep doing what I've been doing all season and enjoy it."
Latics boss Roberto Martinez made eight changes from the team that drew at Bolton.
He said: "We saw at least three players who can help us in the league. This was Callum's first full game and he showed a magic touch, real hard work and quality. He was very streetwise."
