McLeish selecting full-strength Birmingham for Carling Cup semi

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish says they go into their Carling Cup semi with West Ham United with the aim to win.

He will pick his strongest side against West Ham tonight in the first leg of the semi-final.

And he said: "We're not the only club to have gone many years without major success but now we have this chance.

"I feel we're changing our mentality to move towards a winning one and this is another occasion that can strengthen that. We're confident we can take this club on a level. We're trying to add quality.

"It's a great privilege to be in a position to battle for a cup final.

"We've got to believe we can win. We won't be going to Upton Park to park the bus.

"We'll go with a strategy to take a result back to St Andrew's. It's huge playing at Wembley in a final."
