McLeish reveals big summer market plans for Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has big plans for the summer market.

Villa, of course, didn't trade as the transfer deadline ended last night but McLeish revealed he had "definite plans" for the summer.

He told Villa's website: "We have never wavered from our intentions for this window.

"The chairman still wants to steer towards the financial stability and I think you can tell by the lack of business throughout football that that's the case at a lot of other clubs as well although one or two went to the wire in the need to survive.

"But we have definite targets and we have definite plans on what we can do.

"I know the fans get excited about new faces - seeing a bit of change or a new addition, that kind of thing and I am fully aware of that.

"Building your own team sometimes isn't an overnighter - for Mark Hughes it might be but not for me."
