Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is performing a mini clearout this month.
The Sun says Eck has told defenders Martin Taylor and Olivier Tebily, plus striker Rowan Vine, that they are all free to find new clubs.
Neil Danns is set to join Nottingham Forest in a £400,000 deal, while Oldham want to sign on-loan midfielder Neil Kilkenny permanently.
McLeish said: "We need to bring in three players and I will get the backing from the board to do that.
"If we can raise a little bit ourselves, with players who are not likely to figure moving on to other clubs, that will be good."
