Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish was pleased with Mauro Zarate's debut in their defeat at Sunderland.
Zarate shone after being introduced as a 67th-minute substitute, but by then Blues had just gone 2-0 down.
McLeish said of the striker: "He has got some nice touches.
"He can beat a man, he's got to do it in the right areas and hopefully he will bring something to the last third of the pitch where we could be doing with some inspiration."
