McLeish calls on Man Utd's McTominay, Swansea's McBurnie to raise Scotland standard

Alex McLeish has set his new Scotland players a challenge ahead of their upcoming friendlies against Costa Rica and Hungary.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is joined by Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie - currently on loan at Barnsley - and Aberdeen's Scott McKenna as young debutantes included in McLeish's squad.

And the Big Eck has called on the new boys to elevate the standard amongst the players.

"The players are in the squad because of their club form playing at a good level," McLeish said. "The Scottish League has been much maligned.

"We have to show now that these crops of kids can prove they can actually raise the bar."
