Manchester United youth chief Paul McGuinness says its difficult to predict if a youth teamer will make it.
United face Chelsea tomorrow night in the FA Youth Cup semifinal.
"At this stage you don't really think about potential future stars - you just hope the experiences push them on. It is hard to say that a certain kid is going to make it or not," McGuinness told the Manchester Evening News.
"The only players I have seen at this level who you could say were certainties to make it were Norman Whiteside and Ryan Giggs and I have seen United youth teams for a long time.
"Other than those two you could never say for sure. There is so much to prove and do."
