James McFadden admits his return to Everton is all down to manager David Moyes.
The Scotland international had offers from Celtic and Wolves but it was the invitation from Moyes to build himself back up on Merseyside that was impossible to turn down.
"I spoke to the manager a couple of times and he really wanted me to come here - that was good enough for me," said McFadden.
"It is the heart ruling the head, as much as anything. The fact I have been away, I have been able to realise just how good a manager he is and what he was trying to do with me the first time.
"I was young then and at times I didn't really understand what was going on. Having taken a step back and looked from the outside, it is much clearer now. When he phoned me up I was delighted. As soon as it happened, I just wanted to get it done and get back up here."
