McDonald nets twice, one a stunner in Celtic win

Scott McDonald scored once in each half to give Celtic an important 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League overnight. McDonald and Japanese star Shunsuke Nakamura both had early chances to open the scoring but were thwarted by Kilmarnock keeper Alan Coombe.

The diminutive Australian striker struck first in the 27th minute at Kilmarnock's Rugby Park when he was left alone in the area and struck truly.

Fellow Aussie Danny Invincibile got Killie back on level terms less than ten minutes later in the home side's first forward foray, netting from close range.

But it was McDonald's second goal and the eventual winner that turned heads.

In the 81st minute, McDonald received the ball from Aiden McGeady on the edge of the area, beat defender David Lilley then weaved in and out of a host of Kilmarnock players before finishing coolly to send Celtic back to the top of the SPL table.
