McDonald looking to start new season well against Aberdeen

Scott McDonald is back in Glasgow after playing for Australia against the Republic of Ireland in Limerick. The Celtic striker will jump on the bus and travel to Aberdeen for this weekend's SPL season opener under new boss Tony Mowbray.

McDonald told tribalfootball.com: "There is no rest for the wicked. I just drove into my house, basically have dinner with my wife then on Friday morning back on the bus to Aberdeen!

"We expect a tough game but we are determined to make up for last season's disappointment with a good start against Mark McGhee's men."

Scottish Premier League action kicks off on the evening of Saturday 15th August with a live Old Firm double header on Setanta Sports.

Firstly Celtic travel to Aberdeen followed directly by the visit of Falkirk to defending champions Rangers.

The third live game of the opening round sees Dundee Utd host Hearts on Tuesday 18th August.

The first Old Firm game of 2009/10 has also been announced with Celtic visiting Rangers on Sunday 4th October.
