Celtic striker Scott McDonald is looking to push the club further ahead on the Scottish Premier League table. The Hoops are currently two points clear of rivals Rangers and the Australian international is confident Celtic can overcome St Mirren - with the clash being live on Setanta Sports on Saturday night.
"After a solid Scottish Cup win midweek, the lads are confident we can go to St Mirren and get the job done," McDonald told
"It would be nice if Aberdeen could knock off Rangers or at least hold them to a draw, which would give us some breathing space up top."
McDonald has kicked off this season in brilliant style, netting five times in six matches (2 goals in the Scottish Cup midweek), and will be hoping his form carries on into Saturday.
