Liverpool legend Terry McDermott believes Brendan Rodgers' team is capable of winning the Champions League.
McDermott, who won the European Cup three times with the Reds, has been impressed with Rodgers' acquisitions this summer.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "The Champions League is a realistic aim for Liverpool next season because the squad is built to be successful in that.
"You look at the squad and there is cover in every position with real strength and depth.
"It's frightening really because you look at it and there are going to be some top class players not even making the bench some weeks.
"But it was decisive Brendan strengthened because all the top teams have added to their squads.
"We're going to be challenging again there's no doubt about that but you look at that Champions League and you just think we've got a good chance."
