McDermott reinstated as Leeds manager

Brian McDermott has been reinstated as manager at calamity club Leeds United.

The Sunday Mirror says on Friday, the Elland Road club announced that McDermott's contract had been terminated.

But in a statement released yesterday evening, the club claims McDermott REMAINS as manager and denied he'd been shown the door.

Elland Road insiders believe the managing director, David Hague, has acted as peacebroker between McDermott and the Italian consortium currently aiming to complete their takeover.

"The club would like to make it clear that Brian McDermott remains our first team manager," the statement read. "He has not been dismissed from his post as has been suggested and we look forward to him continuing in his role with us in taking Leeds United forwards."
