Reading boss Brian McDermott admits he and the club have struggled to shake off their hangover from last season's play-off final defeat by Swansea and picked up only their second win against Doncaster on Saturday. "We can only live in the now," McDermott told the Royals' official website. "Maybe we've lived in the past a little bit, I'm guilty of that. With the Wembley game, we felt we should have been in the Premier League - but it wasn't to be."
He added: "The only future we've got is the next game away to Coventry.
"We've been looking back for too long, all we can do now is focus on training this week and that is what we are going to do.
"Now we can kick on, and the Doncaster result gives us a base. I just felt we got it out of the system. I know if we work our socks off we will be alright in this league."
