Reading boss Brian McDermott is delighted to count on Jobi McAnuff as club captain.

The Royals skipper was man of the match against Newcastle and almost hit a stunning winner - only to be denied by a post.

Boss McDermott said: "He has been a great captain and a great guy - and is important to us. He has spent a lot of time at many clubs and found his home here.

"It was a good match me meeting him and vice versa."
