Brian McDermott admits no-one from Leeds United contacted him about his reinstatement as manager.
The 52-year-old was informed on Friday night he had been dismissed by potential new owners of the Yorkshire club.
But he then found out on Saturday that he was still in place as boss - after reading about it on the internet!
McDermott, who took Leeds training yesterday, said: "I got a phone call on Friday from a lawyer to say my contract was to be terminated and that I was to receive a letter, and that was it.
"As it is, I still haven't received that letter.
"Then on Saturday, I got a phone call from the current owners. I saw the statement that I was back as Leeds manager for the first time on my iPad, which was interesting."
