Sacked manager Brian McDermott is helping caretaker boss Eamonn Dolan select today's Reading team for the trip to Manchester United.

Dolan has phoned a friend ahead of the Royals trip to take on the Manchester United millionaires.

He said: "I speak to Brian and I'm sure he will give me the advice a friend would give.

"I'm not sure what he'll say but he will do what he normally does as a friend."
