Reading boss Brian McDermott says the FA Cup will always be special to him.

He admits he owes the FA Cup a debt of gratitude after being appointed Reading boss following their win over Liverpool at Anfield three years ago when he was in caretaker charge.

"The FA Cup has always been kind to me," said McDermott. "Who knows what would have happened had we not won at Liverpool?"
