Olympique Marseille owner Frank McCourt has revealed the coaching staff didn't fancy signing Diego Costa over the summer.

The former Chelsea striker was sold to Atletico Madrid earlier this month.

However, this was not before he was considered by OM, where McCourt was prepared to bankroll a deal.

But he revealed to JDD: "If we hesitated for Diego Costa? No one hesitated to do what we thought was best.

"I supported exactly what the experts wanted."
