Rangers manager Ally McCoist has met the appointment of acting chairman David Somers with plenty of positivity.
The Ibrox club have brought in Somers as non-executive director until the club's December 19 AGM and despite supporters protesting outside the ground prior to the weekend's 2-0 League One win over Airdrie, McCoist says it is a good move by the board.
"I had a cup of tea with David today. It was just a brief chat but it was an encouraging 10 or 15 minutes," he said.
"I was asking one or two questions about what his hopes and plans would be and he was asking the same of myself. It was a very pleasant and encouraging meeting and I am hopeful we can have a successful working relationship. He knows the problems at the club in terms of effectively only having two directors and no chief executive.
"That is far from ideal but that's his game and he probably appreciates that fact more than me.
"He is very aware of what the club needs and how he sees it moving forward. He has a few appointments in mind he will be making in the near future."
