Steve McClaren isn't surprised seeing England coach Fabio Capello return the captaincy to Chelsea skipper John Terry.
The proposed move has stirred mixed emotions with the Chelsea skipper originally stripped of the role for his off-field indiscretions.
But McClaren is adamant Terry should be allowed to let his football do the talking.
The former England coach said: "Of course he is a natural leader, I think everyone accepts that. Everybody who knows John Terry behind the scenes knows that.
"But I don't want to join in the debate and become another member of the public that is giving Capello advice and opinion.
"He will make his own decisions, he is strong enough to do that."
