Steve McClaren's role as manager at Derby County is not necessarily safe.

Reports suggest that the Rams chefs are pondering whether or not McClaren is the right man to take the club forward after a dismal end to the Championship season.

According to the Daily Mail, McClaren will prematurely return from his summer holiday to meet with chief executive Sam Rush regarding his future at iPro Stadium.

McClaren was being linked with the Newcastle United job but Derby's run of two wins from their last 13 league matches now has him in danger of losing his post in the East Midlands.
