Former England and Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren says he's ready to make a return to management.

"Who knows?" he replied to Sky Sports News when asked what the future holds for him.

"I'm just waiting for a phone call. I'm itching to get back into the game in whatever capacity and whatever challenge.

"I'm fascinated by what's happening, not just in the Premier League, but in the Championship and all the divisions. It's an exciting time for all the clubs.

"It's great to watch on the outside, but I'm itching to get back in. There's nothing like being involved."
