Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren is confident they're turning the club around.

The 1-0 win at Bournemouth last time out was their first away victory since January, but McClaren believes they are heading in the right direction, even if progress has been slow.

"It might be the Titanic we are trying to turn around, but we feel we are progressing," he said.

"I can see that on the training ground and in games. We would have lost at Bournemouth five or six weeks ago with a display like that (Bournemouth had 20 shots on goal).

"It showed the spirit and togetherness even though we weren't playing very well."
