Steve McClaren is being lined up for an emotional return to FC Twente.

Dutch sources say McClaren will replace Co Adriaanse, who is set to leave Twente this week after failing to win over the dressing room.

Twente sit in third place, but the players are unhappy with Adriaanse' management and tactics.

McClaren, who has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest, won the title for Twente in 2010.
