Wolfsburg coach Steve McClaren is on the brink at the Bundesliga strugglers.
The former Manchester United and Middlesbrough coach believed he had the rest of the season to turn round Wolfsburg's faltering fortunes after narrowly surviving a crisis meeting to determine his future last month.
Sources close to McClaren claim he knows how precarious his position has become and that he will be fired, unless there is a marked improvement in Wolfsburg's form and results over the next three games.
He is said to be bracing himself for the worst, with today's visit of defending champions Bayern Munich followed by games against the Bundesliga's top two, Mainz and Borussia Dortmund.
