McClaren up for England U21 post

Steve McClaren is under consideration to succeed Stuart Pearce as England U21 manager.

The Mail on Sunday says McClaren still has supporters within the FA despite his failure to qualify for Euro 2008 and he is expected to be interviewed along with others once chairman Greg Dyke takes up his post on July 13.

The 52-year-old has not worked since being sacked by FC Twente in February.
