After seeing hopes of landing the Aston Villa job dashed, Steve McClaren is set to return to Holland to resume his career.
The Daily Mail says McClaren is set to seek refuge in Holland after being denied a return to Barclays Premier League management by an angry fans' backlash.
McClaren accepts he is not wanted in England and could return to FC Twente to succeed manager Michel Preud'homme, who is expected to quit to join Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia.
The only worry for Twente president Joop Munsterman is a possible approach by Vitesse Arnhem, who are on the verge of sacking former Chelsea full back Albert Ferrer as boss. But they would have to act swiftly and guarantee substantial transfer funds to prevent McClaren returning to last season's Dutch Cup winners.
