Steve McClaren was delighted with his interview for the Blackburn Rovers job this week.

Paul Ince and Sam Allardyce were interviewed for the job yesterday.

But ex-England boss McClaren did his cause no harm when he met Rovers chairman John Williams on Monday.

A source close to the former Middlesbrough boss told The Sun: "Steve pulled out all the stops when he met with Rovers and they were all very impressed.

"He doesn't want to be too over-confident but he thinks it went very well."
