Former England and Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren is backing Tottenham to beat UEFA Cup opponents NEC Nijmegen tonight.

The FC Twente coach said: "Nijmegen are well organised and have a good home record.

"They have had an incredible run this year, a team who have come to the fore. It will be a difficult game for Tottenham because Nijmegen are tactically aware but I think Spurs will be too strong for them.

"Harry's got them going, you can see the confidence in the team now."
