McClaren assures Man City fans: Dzeko will prove worth

Steve McClaren insists Edin Dzeko will come good for Manchester City.

The Bosnia international has failed to make a major impression since his arrival.

But former Wolfsburg boss McClaren, who sanctioned Dzeko's move to City before being sacked by the German club, told talkSPORT: "Dzeko went to Germany from Bosnia. The first season he was in and out, struggled, and didn't score goals. It took him a year to adapt to German football.

"In the second year he scored 28 goals, the third year he scored 30 goals. This year 10 goals before he left. He will adapt and he will score. He has everything.

"Adapting to the Premier League is totally different , adapting to Manchester City in that dressing room will be totally different and alien to him. He will have time next season to come through. He will score goals."
