McClaren asks fans for ‘blind faith’ as Newcastle look to turn things around

Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren has asked the supporters to show a little 'blind faith' despite their horrid start to the new season.

McClaren took the reins at St James' Park in the summer and his arrival, plus a bunch of quality new signings, had an air of optimism floating around the Tyne side of the north east.

In contrast, it has been an horrific beginning by the Magpies who sit second bottom on the Premier League table with just two points and three goals to their name but McClaren is asking for a little more patience from the Toon faithful as he arrives to turn things around.

"As a supporter, with what happened last season, and then the expectation of this, it is a little bit of blind faith that is needed, that is required," said McClaren.

"A bit of blind faith and belief that eventually we will get it right, turn it around, and start performing and winning games. Yes, we will eventually do that.

"We don't need to be told, we know what is going on. We know what we have to do, we know the solutions, we just have to go out there and do it."
