Dax McCarty has signed a new deal with New York Red Bull it has been confirmed.
The 25-year old midfielder, who joined the Red Bulls from DC United in June 2011, has penned a fresh contract ahead of the 2013 MLS campaign.
"We are delighted to sign Dax to an extended contract, as he is a very important player for this club," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh.
"As a talented, American player, Dax is part of the heart and soul of this team and we are looking forward to once again having him contribute to the Red Bulls and our campaign."
McCarty, who spent five years with FC Dallas between 2006 and 2010, made 33 appearances for New York last season and became a key part of the roster at Red Bull Arena following his mid-2011 trade.
