Wigan Athletic young gun James McCarthy is delighted that results are starting to fall the way of his club.
The Latics have drawn two and won two of their past four matches to move six points clear of bottom-of-the-table Wolves and after the 2-0 home win over Stoke City on Saturday, McCarthy was thrilled to get another three points on the board to help brighten things up at the DW Stadium.
"Thankfully (against Stoke) Antolin (Alcaraz) has come up with the first and Victor (Moses) the second - two great goals and hopefully that can kick us on. It is about time, to be honest.""We have done really, really well (recently) and just not come up with the finishing touch," he said.
McCarthy admitted that both he and the team have been through some bad patches but he is remaining positive leading into this weekend's meeting with Chelsea which the Latics feel is winnable after scoring a victory at Liverpool last weekend.
"I have not scored this season which is disappointing. But the main thing is Wigan and if I can do a job and we win, I will do that all day.
"We went to Anfield and got three points and if we keep sticking as a group we will be fine.""We have been through sticky patches, myself included," he added.
