Everton midfielder James McCarthy is full of praise for their young defenders.

McCarthy says the likes of Tyias Browning, Brendan Galloway and Ramiro Funes Mori are more than capable of dealing with Liverpool today, if they are required.

He told evertonfc.com: “It's a massive game again, it's going to be a tough one. We are going in to it confidently but it will still be tough.

“They (Galloway, Browning and Mori) have come in and been brilliant. They have done really well since they have come into the team and deserve to be playing.

“It's a derby but they will be ready - we might have players back, we will wait and see - but we have a good squad and the boys who have come in have done really well."
