McCarthy insists Wolves won't go down

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy insists they'll beat the drop.

Their 3-1 home win over struggling Wigan in their final game before the international break was their first League victory in nine matches.

McCarthy said: "I know that we will win enough games - we will be fine.

"Will we be able to win two or three on the bounce when we get fixtures where we can do it? And if we can, it is about periods in a season where you must keep picking points up.

"It was our day against Wigan, wasn't it? It was our day and I kept saying it would turn for us because of the way we were playing.

"But in recent weeks we've been punished and in recent weeks we've not punished the opposition."
