McCarthy: Griffiths can have Wolves future

Mick McCarthy feels Leigh Griffiths still has a future at Wolves.

The former Wolves boss sent the striker on-loan to Hibs this season.

"We paid £150,000 for Leigh," the former Republic of Ireland boss explained to the Daily Express. "We got a few good reports on him when he was at Dundee. We then had him watched because he had a good goalscoring record and we decided to take a chance on him. His goal average at Dundee was something like a goal every two games, which wasn't a bad return and was worth a punt.

"Anyone who scores a lot of goals is worth a shout. I think Leigh could end up being proving a bargain for Wolves."
