Wolves boss Mick McCarthy fears his Molineux career will be defined by his shadow election for the defeat at Manchester United.
McCarthy received lots of flak for changing Wanderers' entire 10 outfield players at Old Trafford to rest stars.
He said: "It's my job to make the decisions that I did - they are defining moments in seasons and in careers.
"But I got a great response from the players and I would like to thank them and my staff for their support regarding the decisions that I have made over recent weeks.
"They were all supportive and understood just what we were about.
"Every member of the team has played their part over the past few weeks. In fact the whole squad has with the way they support each other.
"The togetherness is very evident."
