Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy admits he's amazed he could decide the destiny of title at Chelsea today.
A draw or a defeat coupled with a Manchester United win against Stoke will see the Red Devils plunder their fourth title on the spin.
McCarthy admits it's bewildering but swears he's loving every minute of it.
He told the Daily Record: "It's utter madness that I am playing in the English title decider. It's crazy to think I am going to take part in a match of this magnitude.
"I used to play on ash parks with my mates in Castlemilk and now here I am playing in a game like this alongside the likes of Didier Drogba, Michael Ballack, Frank Lampard and John Terry.
"Chelsea and Manchester United are two great teams and they have a list of top players on their books. To compete against a guy such as Wayne Rooney is brilliant. It is mind blowing to be playing in the Premier League against top opposition every week.
"Since I was a boy I wanted to play football and my family always encouraged me but I didn't reckon I would be playing at the highest level so soon. I grew up watching the Premier League and the dominance of the so-called big four, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
"We want to take something from the game at Stamford Bridge. It is going to be a complete sell-out and the atmosphere will be great. Hopefully Wigan will have a big say in the destination of the title - we have nothing to lose and the pressure is all on Chelsea to win.
"It is a massive game for them and a big test for us but even though we are massive underdogs, we have beaten Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United this season. However, Sir Alex Ferguson has not yet been on the phone to ask us to do United a favour."
