Reading midfielder Jobi McAnuff is impressed with their summer market work.
Russia striker Pavel Pogrebnyak - who was granted a work permit yesterday - midfielder Danny Guthrie and winger Garath McCleary are expected to be joined by two or three new faces in the coming weeks.
"It's fantastic," skipper McAnuff told getreading. "Generally his (Brian McDermott) signings here have been top drawer and now he's taken it to another level in terms of who we are able to attract.
"This is a fantastic club. You only have to look around the training ground and the stadium to see that. I think we are a very attractive proposition to a lot of people and the manager is a big part of that.
"He's done fantastic to get the quality of players that we have in Garath McCleary, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Danny Guthrie already.
"Any player who is worth his salt will want that competition and quality as it will help us achieve our goals."
