McAllister turned down Portsmouth over changed offer

Gary McAllister was all set to join Portsmouth earlier this season, it is reported.

The Daily Mail says McAllister went very close to becoming former manager Paul Hart's No 2. A deal was agreed and McAllister even took delivery of a club tracksuit.

But when the contract landed on the desk of his representatives, the terms bore little resemblance to those that had been agreed.

It all left Hart embarrassed as McAllister decided a move to Portsmouth was not for him.
