Aston Villa No2 Gary McAllister expects the players to rally for ill manager Gerard Houllier today against Stoke City.
A win should secure safety but the Scot insists the team are looking up not down.
He said: "Three or four games ago we were talking about safety but now I think the target is catching Bolton.
"Certainly at Liverpool there was a pulling together of players wanting to win for the manager and I'm sure that will be the case here because that will be the perfect tonic."
