Modeste M'Bami remains calm as he attempts to land a permanent contract at Wigan. The Cameroon international is on trial but Latics boss Roberto Martinez is willing to wait until the former Marseille player has regained match fitness before making a decision.

"I am happy. I know time is on my side," the 26 year old told skysports.com.

"It is good to be here and I am working towards my best physical shape.

"Coach Martinez knows my credentials, so let's wait and see what happens in the next week or so.

"I have good experience from playing for big teams in the African Nations Cup and the Champions League, so I think I will be fine."
