Carlo Mazzone admits he would've liked to have applied for the AS Roma job.

Mazzone has revealed that only his age stopped him from applying for the Roma job.

"If I was a few years younger then I would have put myself forward to resolve this situation and Coach Roma," he said. "After all, I'm their biggest fan in Italy.

"Montella? I don't think his lack of experience will be a handicap, actually it may turn out to be a blessing."
