Lazio defender Modibo Diakite is wanted by Inter Milan.
New Inter coach Walter Mazzarri wants to sign the Bosman prospect after former club Napoli pushed hard for him for much of this year.
Sunderland are also keen, but Inter are now in talks with Diakite's minders about a free transfer to the San Siro.
