Walter Mazzarri has signed a new contract with Napoli to 2013.
Mazzarri took charge mid-season after Roberto Donadoni was fired and took them into the Europa League with a sixth-place finish.
"We discussed a long-term plan to guarantee consistency in results," President Aurelio De Laurentiis told Radio Marte.
"The meeting with Mazzarri was to talk over the future of Napoli. There was already a contract with our Coach, but we extended it by another two seasons. He will be our tactician for the next three years.
"We have to give a logical progression to the next five-year term and that is what we have done.
"It doesn't happen in other clubs, as we love consistency and continuity. I have always had a long rapport with my collaborators and that is how I do business."
