Sampdoria coach Walter Mazzarri insists they go into tonight's Coppa Italia final against Lazio as underdogs.
"We are proud to have reached this game and consider it the crowning moment of a journey that started last year with sixth place in Serie A, the UEFA Cup and overcoming Vujadin Boskov's club record for consecutive European ties unbeaten," said Mazzarri.
"The Final of the Coppa Italia represents another step forward and it is an honour just to be there after 15 years."
The Samp boss also remarked: "Playing on home turf is obviously an advantage for them and Lazio are the favourites. It might've been more balanced to move it to a neutral venue once they knew Lazio were in the Final.
"In any case, our fans have always followed us in vast numbers and it will be great to see them there again. We are glad to be giving them this special night.
"It is all to play for, as this is a one-off game and anything can happen. The winner will be the team that keeps its cool."
